On this trip, Central Cares went to Succotz, Belize to a school called San Jose Succotz School where we replaced a leaking tin roof, added new trusses, put up drywall, and installed lights and fans in four classrooms. During the rainy season the children in these classrooms got dripped on and couldn't hear their teacher over the rain pounding down on the roof. The drywall we put up gave a sound and heat shield from the outdoors and the fans and lights make it look and feel like a whole new building! Throughout this project we were helped by several volunteers that either went to that school themself, or have children/grandchildren that attend the school.
